I just finished reading this article and, finally, have begun to see the circumstances of what's been going on with the economy. I must admit that some political faith was restored when I read that the opposition was partial to the benefit of taxpayers whom should not be paying for something the current administration, and the highly-overly-paid Wall Street folk shouldn't have allowed to happen in the first place. There are technicalities as to what is truly happening, of course, and the very small print is hardly ever read, and the foresight used is sometimes somewhat of the more narrow standards. The United States is in dire need of an eye-opening wake-up call. I don't agree that this "plan" would have driven directly into Socialism, and I am not making any judgement on socialism vs democracy, either. What I am saying, though, is that this economy, which is an active and hugely important aspect of every life in this country, is changing, and changing now for the sake of survival, not solely because we want to make things better - do things smarter, and enjoy this a little more.
So now I wonder what is going to happen, overall - during and after this - how are things going to change? Please correct me if my senses here are not... sensible, but this is not solely about A.I.G., Lynch, Citigroup, Lehman Brothers, or even Goldman Sachs riding the rough road. This is a national issue beginning with investments which will effect the smallest $1 price hike on every item you consume! And I am being quite generous considering my paycheck will not be enough to get me through next year how it did these past 9+ months.
I'm considering simply living a smarter life. I'm thinking live smarter so I disparage less, have less stress, see more money, buy more things, plan more trips, take longer breaks, and smile more often. So, for the sake of living smarter here is my toast! This is in the name of every American who has fought long and hard to reach peace, fulfillment, and happiness. There is no use in the time allotted for what could have been, should have been, would have been. We only move in a forward motion, therefore we look both ways, we cross the street, we get to the other side, and we live to tell all about it! God Bless US!!!!!
